Anticipation Guide -- This activity will help students activate prior knowledge before a reading activity to increase engagement level.

Coding Sheets -- Two templates to help your students get he most out of their reading.  Rather than just reading, writing a summary and then an opinion, students are asked to follow prompts to get those things done without sounding so daunting.

Think Aloud -- An explanation of a strategy to help students think about what they are reading while they read, rather than just decode what they are reading.

Me Read? No Way! A practical guide to improving boys' literacy skills -- From the guide that was prepared by the Ontario Ministry of Education as part of an initiative to support student success in literacy. In particular, it focuses on boys’ literacy.  (Link leads to html versions of the strategies fro success)
